Leadership
The Center provides leadership through its Director, Robert J. Ursano, M.D., its Center Directors, Advisory Board and Scientists in understanding the psychological effects of trauma, disaster and terrorism. Dr. Ursano, Professor and Chairman, Department of Psychiatry, the Uniformed Services University, is a scholar, a speaker, advocate and mentor who has helped integrate a disaster mental health perspective into public health planning and policy. His work brings lessons learned from military readiness and response to inform homeland security issues and stakeholders who must prepare our workplaces, our communities and our nation for the 21st century. Dr. Ursano is author and editor of many definitive books on post-traumatic stress and the science, management and treatment of individual and community responses to trauma.
